Huntington North senior Lilly Clanin has officially committed to attend Indiana Wesleyan
University in Marion where she will become a member of the school's track team.
While at Huntington North, Clanin participated in the Lady Viking cross country and
basketball programs, as well as track.
An extremely versatile runner, the future Wildcat has excelled in the 100m dash, 200m
dash, 4x100m relay, Long Jump, 60m dash, 400m dash, 800m run, 4x400m relay, and
the 4x800m relay.
The daughter of Adam and Kelly Clanin, Lilly has also been a member of 4-H, Student
Council, Class Council, Student Athletic Board, Riley Dance Marathon, Sources of
Strength, Powder Puff and Freshmen Mentors.
Not one to let her athletic success over shadow her work in the classroom, Clanin
earned membership in the National Honor Society and was a Scholar Athlete and Honor
Role recipient each of her four years.
She's also found time to hone her sense of humor, thanks to some former teammates.
Clanin revealed, "My favorite athletic memory is my freshmen year basketball season
staying in a hotel for the Penn tournament and the seniors calling us freshmen’s room
pretending to be the front desk saying we had a noise compliant and need to gather all
of our stuff to change rooms. We gathered all our things and were ready to go to the
front desk when we realized it was the seniors!"
Inspired by parents who "..work so hard every day and sacrifice so much for me and my
brothers", Lilly will be majoring in Pre-Med with a concentration in Pre-Dental. She has
plans to become an Orthodontist.
