Huntington native and current Huntington North High School senior, Gracie Beal, is in the spotlight this week for Greenbear Digital Media’s “Military Monday”, which is our way of thanking the brave men and women who serve this country.
Gracie is the daughter of Amy and Nathan Beal and is a senior at Huntington North High School. She is in the Army National Guard, PV2, as a 92W Water Treatment Specialist. She completed basic training in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and will be going to Advanced Individual Training School (AIT) at Fort Gregg Adams, Virginia, after graduating high school. After AIT, Gracie plans to attend college.
Gracie says that it was her family that inspired her to join the military, and has several family members that have served in different branches of the armed forces.
“I’ve always found them inspiring in what they did with their lives and I wanted to follow in their footsteps and make something of my life,” Gracie said.
She shared that her favorite memory from basic training was “getting to be around so many different people from different places” as well as the “shenanigans” that people would get into while in basic training.
Although Gracie has not yet been deployed, she takes part in drill exercises in Fort Wayne.
We at Greenbear Digital Media and The Den would like to thank all of those who have served, are currently serving or will serve in the U.S. Military. Please reach out to kfarley@greenbeartheden.com for a bio form to fill out so we can tell your story.
