Norwell High School student-athlete Eddy Archbold signed to continue his tennis career at Huntington University on Tuesday, November 26. He plans to major in Business Management.
Eddy is the son of Brent and Danielle Archbold. His siblings are Corbin and Connor Archbold. He plays tennis, golf and basketball and is coached by Noah Tobias, Mark Tobias and Damon Kuhlenbeck.
Eddy has been playing tennis since he was in third grade. Outside of sports, Eddy enjoys “hanging with friends” and playing the guitar. He also participates in Campus Life and has worked at the Bluffton Pizza King for two years.
When asked what inspired him to play tennis, Eddy said, “I watched a lot of tennis growing up, and that gave me the passion to play.” He looks up to professional athlete Roger Federer, a former Swiss tennis player.
He advises his underclassmen teammates to “always give 110%, practice like you play and don’t give up.”
As far as hopes and plans for the future, Eddy has a few goals in mind. Aside from the goal of graduating with a master’s degree, Eddy also wants to learn to become a successful businessman and to gain more relationships through college. He hopes to be settling into a good job and “starting a new chapter in life” in the next five years.
His coaches at Huntington University will be Franco Minoldo Garcia and Ignacio Poncio.
