Vikings fall to East Noble

The 9-3 Vikings couldn't quite keep the momentum from their hard-fought win against Lebanon last week, falling to the 11-1 East Noble Knights 52-17 on Friday, November 15 during the regional football game.

It’s been quite the ride for the Vikings, going from a losing record last year to 9-3 overall this season and 4-3 in conference play. East Noble took HNHS down in the regular season as well, scoring 28 to Huntington's 16.

During the regional contest on Friday, HNHS took the opening kickoff and kicked a 20-yard field goal with eight minutes left in the first quarter, good for three points. East Noble was quick to answer with a touchdown four minutes later, and Huntington never caught back up.

According to MaxPreps.com, this year’s team leaders were:

  • Tatum Brooks with 129 receiving yards per game

  • Anthony Decker with 171. Rushing yards per game, two passing touchdowns and 0.661 completion percentage

  • Jason Teusch with 15.0 tackles per game

  • Sullivan Stahl with 2.0 sacks

East Noble will face Mishawaka on Friday, November 22 in the semi-state contest, with the winner advancing to Lucas Oil Stadium for the state championship game.
